Professional SMTP Servers

High-performance, secure and scalable: our virtual servers with SMTP configuration enjoy all the advantages of VPS for general use, as well as a series of specific features designed to manage massive volumes of emails, addresses and items. Everything included in the pre-configured template and in the price of each plan.

High delivery rates

DKIM/SPF support prevents sent emails from being marked as spam.

The same server can use different IPs in rotation, presenting itself as multiple distinct machines.

Antivirus and antispam filters

All mailboxes are protected by integrated, cutting-edge and always updated software.

Pre-installed SSL certificate

It guarantees the security of transmissions to and from the server, which is therefore more reliable.

Are reports, statistics and activity logs available?

Reporting for emails sent via phpList is available at servername/lists/admin.

For emails sent from mail clients or other software, we provide the pflogsumm tool, which can be used via command line and provides a comprehensive and detailed text report.

The server as such is monitored in real time to ensure its continuous operation. It is also possible to set up specific probes and alerts by purchasing the additional service Active Monitoring.

Are there any anti-spam tools available?

Of course: the SMTP server supports DKIM, SPF and DMARC records, which must be set in the DNS management area of your domain to obtain the desired behavior.

  • SPF record: allows you to select the IPs enabled to send the domain's mail, preventing access to all others. The SMTP server IP must necessarily be included in this whitelist.
  • DKIM record: allows recipients to verify that an incoming email actually comes from the sender's domain and has not been modified during transmission. It can be generated within the server using a script provided by us and activated from the command line.
  • DMARC type TXT record: allows you to manage situations in which emails sent by the SMTP server are rejected by the recipient servers. It allows you to set specific policies for each case and receive an immediate alert when this occurs.

We also provide two different software for controlling and limiting emails sent by the SMTP server: PolicyD and Anvil. They are both disabled by default, but you can enable them to automatically block sendings when certain thresholds are reached, thus preventing abuses resulting from a possible hacking.

  • PolicyD allows you to limit the number of emails sent from specific mailboxes or domains in a given period of time. It is managed via a graphical interface from the servername/policyd page.
  • Anvil limits the number of connections per IP in the unit of time. It is managed only via the command line.
How are security backups managed?

All plans include by default the weekly backup and the daily snapshot of the SMTP server. The copies are stored within the server storage itself and are accessible from the dedicated page on the Manager panel.

Also available are the additional services of Daily Backup and Disaster Recovery – the latter to be combined with a remote storage space.

How do I configure the SMTP server?

Apart from the Manager panel (from which you can manage the service from a commercial point of view) we provide three different administration platforms for the SMTP server, each intended for different functions. They are all accessible via browser.

  • servername/lists/admin: control panel of phpList, the main software for the direct management of sending lists.
  • servername/policyd: control panel of Policyd, for limiting sending and configuring specific policies.
  • servername/postfixadmin: Postfix interface, through which you can create/modify/delete domains and mailboxes associated with the server, as well as manage their passwords.
How do I enable SMTP server authentication?

The SMTP service supports two different authentication methods, namely login via username and password.

  • Via SSL/TLS protocol on port 465, provided that the hostname you are connecting from is covered by a valid SSL certificate. This should not be a problem, since the system automatically activates a LetsEncrypt SSL certificate upon connection. However, if you choose to replace the default email name (in the form example.serverlet.com) with a custom one, you will need to set up the corresponding DNS records yourself. The SSLv2 and SSLv3 protocols are disabled as they are obsolete.
  • Via STARTTLS protocol on standard ports 25 (for non-encrypted communications) and 587 (for TLS-encrypted communications).

It is also possible to allow selected IPs to send emails without any authentication, but this requires manually editing the configuration files.

What are the SMTP ports?

Our infrastructure uses the standard ports conventionally associated with SMTP servers:

  • 25 for unencrypted communications
  • 465 for the SSL encryption protocol
  • 587 for the TLS encryption protocol
What email formats are supported?

The SMTP server supports emails in the following formats:

  • Plain text
  • HTML
  • MIME
What is the maximum size of attachments?

Each email sent through our SMTP servers can carry attachments with a maximum total size of 75 MB. Consequently, no single attachment can exceed 75 MB.

Which email clients and operating systems are supported?

The SMTP server supports all popular operating systems and all major email clients – Gmail, Outlook, Thunderbird, iCloud – as long as they have sufficiently advanced encryption systems (TLS-grade).
