Requirements and limitations
Only cooperatives, cooperative service organizations and subsidiaries of cooperatives are eligible for registration of the .coop domain name. Individuals are not eligible to register the .coop domain name. The names of two characters are initially reserved. Registration of these names in .coop requires permission from the appropriate country and government code manager or ISO 3166 maintenance agency. DotCoop will work with potential registrants to determine the availability of two relevant names of interest. Names containing hyphens in positions 3 and 4 are also reserved for future support of International Domain Names (IDNs.)
